Week #11 - Salton City - San Bernardino, CA Mission
Hey everyone!
This week has been great! We have seen a lot of great miracles this week. First of all, I have been able to see the great poet of the Book of Mormon in helping people feel the impressions of the spirit.
So one of the people we are teaching, expressed some reservations to being baptized and wanted to read the Book of Mormon before she was baptized. We were a little disappointed that she was hesitant about baptism, but we were grateful for her desire to read the Book of Mormon.
When we came back for our next visit, she said that as she read the thought came to her, "What are you afraid of?" Towards the end of the lesson, she asked if we were going to invite her to be baptized. We asked her if that was the desire of her heart and she replied, "Yes."
We also are very happy because this week we were able to pinpoint the concerns of another person we are teaching, who is a very close to baptism. He's in for a trial of his faith, but we believe that it will help him have a stronger testimony of God and be a faithful covenant keeper.
We also had another wonderful event. We found another new person to teach! He listened to us attentively and as we spoke about prophets, he asked if we believed that there were prophets today. We immediately said yes and then told him about Joseph Smith. He was interested and I look forward to teaching him this week.
Today, we also did something really fun. We went on a hike through ladder canyon. It was pretty fun. We climbed through this canyon and at times had to use ladders. At the top we was a beautiful view!
Love you all!
