Week #43 FINAL WEEK - Fontana (Sierra & Alder Ward) - San Bernardino, CA Mission
Hey everyone!
I can't believe I have made it. For those of you who have
been following my emails, you know that it has been an adventure. I've served
in three missions, served under four mission presidents, served in two
countries, and taught in two languages. I don't think any of us could have seen
this coming, but I'm grateful that it all happened. I've had so many special
experiences and seen so many miracles I would not have given it up for
anything.
This week has been an exciting and interesting! I spent most
of my week cleaning up my area before I leave. I don't know if I said this
already, but because of the loss of missionaries in the mission I will be
handing it off to a set of hermanas. The hermanas used to be sharing the ward
with me and my companion, but now they will be taking over the entire ward.
I've spent most of my time making notes and trying to do pass off lessons. It
wasn't the most successful, but I did my best.
There were plenty of meetings that happened this week. For
the first and very last time I attended an institute class as a missionary and
then after that we had a mission wide zoom meeting.
On Thursday, I had a meeting with the young men of the
Sierra ward and taught them the restoration and invited them to to share it
with their friends. Finally on Sunday we had another mission wide conference
and then a Face2Face event with President and Sister McKinnon. The Face2Face
was for departing missionaries only and we got some good advice from it.
Saturday, I had the wonderful opportunity to work in the
bishop's storehouse. I helped people fill out food orders and bagged apples. It
was fun and afterwards we went to 5 guys burgers and that was fun.
The highlight of the week was that I finally got in contact
with a person that I've been trying to get in contact for weeks. Sadly I didn't
get to teach him, but at least its something.
The other highlight was that I got to teach my family and my
grandparents the restoration. It was so special to be able to do that.
Finally, since this is my last email I would like to bear my
testimony. I know that this is the Lord's work. I know that the gospel of Jesus
Christ was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that this is His
church. Again I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have had to serve my Father
and my Savior as a full time missionary.
See you soon!
