Week #30 - Fontana (Sierra Ward), San Bernardino, CA Mission

Hey Everyone!
This week has been sort of a whirlwind and pretty busy. We had exchanges with the zone leaders and the I did exchanges with the Alder Elders so we have been doing a lot of coordination. The good thing is that as we have been able to talk to a lot of people and I have been able to become more comfortable with talking with people everywhere and in every place. The nice thing with talking with everyone is that we've found a lot more people willing to listen to our message. The only downside is that we've contacted people several times. The nice thing about that, however,  is that we get to know them better and while they may not be interested in our message now our multiple contacts may pique their curiosity.
We also had several miracles occur. One of the people we have been trying to teach for the past few weeks was finally home and willing to hear us. He asked us about what after we die and we were able to show him using scriptures both in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. He paid close attention and said that what we said was true. He also said that he believed that the Book of Mormon was true. We were so surprised and happy about that. Hopefully he'll be able to come to church because he works a lot.
Besides Mark, we were also able to teach Matthew a couple of times. He loves our message and reading the Book of Mormon. He is so awesome! We showed him the Book of Mormon videos and he thought they were awesome. They really helped him understand what he was reading better. For example he didn't realize that Lehi was Nephi's father. I don't blame him at all because honestly the scriptures can be confusing. Sadly, he's been passing through a rough time so we gave him a priesthood blessing. The blessing was powerful and it was such a privilege to be the voice of the Lord for that brief, but powerful moment. It really touched him and strengthened his faith.
There honestly have been so many miracles happening this past week that I can't count them all. For example, yesterday we knocked on a door and the man who answered said that he and his friend had been talking about going to a church, but hadn't been sure which church to attend. He also commented that he thought it was funny that as soon as he showed interest in going to church we showed up on his porch. This is the work of the Lord. What can I say more?
Last of all, we had stake conference  and it was pretty fun because there was a seventy there who had served in Peru as a missionary and as a mission president. He said that when he was a missionary President Gorden B. Hinckley prophesied that the church in Peru would grow dramatically. He testified that that is exactly what happened and I add my testimony to that too because I saw the work . We have prophets today and what they prophesy comes to pass.

Love you all!
