Week #36 - Fontana (Sierra Ward), San Bernardino, CA Mission

Hey everyone!

This week has been busy like always. We had exchanges last Wednesday which was fun. It was nice because the Elder I was with struggled last time to talk to everyone. However, this time he did amazing. It was cool to see that growth.

Besides that, we have been continuing to try to get in contact with people that we are teaching. We were finally able to teach Matthew this week. He's been going through a rough time and is just really tired from work. We were able to have a good lesson and he said he would come to church. Sadly, he didn't and we're not sure what else to do. We are praying for guidance to know how to help him.
We did have one miracle though this week. One person we've been teaching told us that he believed that the Book of Mormon was true. He's been being taught for years and has been praying for an answer. As we read the Book of Mormon last Monday, however, the presence of the Spirit was very strong. I was impressed to ask him if he believed if the Book of Mormon was the writings of a prophet of God or the imaginations of a man. He responded that he believed it was written by an ancient prophet of God. We were so happy to hear that. He's still a long way from considering baptism, but at least he is accepting the Book of Mormon as scripture.

We also met and saw several people who were definitely not obeying the word of wisdom. As a result, one of them started trying to beat up a wall. It was kind of funny, but sad.

Oh, also. I almost forgot one miracle that happened. As we tried to talk to everyone, we talked to a mother who was picking up her kids from school. She was very friendly and said she was interested in learning more about our message. We then gave her address to the sisters that covered where she lived. Later that day we found out that they had passed by and now were teaching her and her family! It was such a privilege to have that happen. I hope everything goes well.
Love you all and have a great week!
