Week #17 - San Bernardino (Rancho Ward) - San Bernardino, CA Mission
Hey Everyone!
Well today has been an interesting week. The good news is that we found someone new to teach and she has already had a spiritual experience with the Book of Mormon. We are going to try to help her get to church this week. Also, one of our recent converts just received the Aaronic priesthood yesterday and really wants to go to the temple. Hopefully, we'll be able to go this week.
Another exciting piece of news is that we were finally able to contact a recent convert. We've been trying to contact him for the past couple weeks so we were so happy to finally meet with him.
We also went on exchanges this week so for a day I was with Elder Cressal. We had some fun together and found a member that hadn't been to church for years. He was pretty cool and the manager for an apartment complex so he let us lock up our bikes at the apartment complex and knock on the doors. We found maybe one person who said we could come back. However, I hope the missionaries can teach the complex manager.
The scariest and most interesting thing that happened here was that my companion almost got hit by a car. The intersection's lights were out so everyone was treating it as a four way stop. As we were biking across the crosswalk, a car did a California stop and then turned across the cross walk. He hit the front part of the front wheel of my companion's bike causing the handle bars to swing around. Thankfully, neither my companion nor the bike were hurt. It still shook us a little. Thanks for all your prayers! They're keeping us safe from crazy drivers!
Love you guys lots,
Elder Green
P.S.
We biked over 20 miles twice this week! I'm really tired!
I found the Book of Mormon through a dream on November 2nd of last year and finished reading it completely before my baptism on January 5th. I've almost completed it the 2nd time since baptism. I completed the D&C September 30th and after completing the Book of Mormon the 2nd time I will begin the Pearl of Great Price. I was in the Baptist and Assembly of God churches for nearly 45 years when I had my dream in Brisbane, Australia. I was baptized/confirmed in the Konedobu Branch, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and am now a member of the Wiseman Ward in San Antonio, Texas. Keep preaching His Gospel Elder Green!
