Week #9 - Salton City - San Bernardino, CA Mission
Hey everyone,
Well this week has been interesting and awesome. It's been
awesome because more of the people we've been teaching are progressing. Manuel
and Priscilla are doing so well. They are so receptive to Jesus Christ's
message and are willing to follow His commandments. They are still going
through hard times, but it is amazing to see how God strengthens those who
follow him.
Another really cool thing is that we are starting to see the
positive effects of the gospel of Jesus Christ in another one of the people we
are teaching. She hadn't been reading or attending church, so we were kind of
worried about her, but then when we met her this week and she had read the Book
of Mormon. She also seemed a lot happier and positive then before. It was a
great contact because we were able to help her see how God had been helping her
as she has been obeying the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Another miracle we had was a member referral. The member
invited her friend to listen to us and we had an amazing contact. Her friend
shared that she had blown her tires out twice in Salton City and felt that God
wanted her to find something here. She also shared that she was willing to
follow whatever knowledge or path God showed her. I am so excited to teach her
because she's got a willing heart and an open mind.
Besides those wonderful things, our car's tire popped so we
had to go get the leak plugged. It was annoying because we had to drive for
about an hour in order to get it fixed. We also knocked an entire block in
Borrego and didn't find anyone to teach. We only found a friendly drunk guy who
gave us sodas. Despite our lack of success, we felt that God was happy with our
success.
Love you guys!
